From Tessa Blog:
At the moment I’m sitting in Movie [class] and Eric, Larissa and I are supposed to do a script, what until now hasn’t been really accepted: The story is not to be changed and it is about an artist couple, which is totally freaky and already has achieved very much and therefore gives an interview in the Bluebox [?? or “to the Bluebox” - don’t know what she means with that English word in this context] – but it shouldn’t be mentioned what exactly they have done. All in all the length has to be up to three minutes, the host is more or less boring, the guest shall be “crazy”. Do you have better ideas, give it to me!

This confuse me... Or it's to early in the morning... :o  :!:

U-Lee, I don't know if I can help you, I understood it this way: The movie she is doing the script for is about a couple (I guess husband and wife?), both are artists and had a lot of success. Now they do that interview (Tessa & Co are to script this interview, I guess) to the "Bluebox" or in the Bluebox. Yes, she really wrote the English word "Bluebox", but I don't know what that meant. Is it to be a fictious TV show? Or a print magazine? Anyway, this interview, with a host (imagine Larry King), the couple (imagine Jack Lemmon and Walther Matthau) and "crazy" guests (perhaps audience in the studio, behaving crazy? Again she used the English word, "crazy") is to run for about three minutes. In these three minutes, neither this fictious couple of artists nor the interviewer are allowed to mention, with what they (the artists) had had success with.

As I understand it, Tessa and her friends she mentioned (Eric and Larissa) have to write a script about that interview situation. Like this one:

Larry King: "Well, Ladies and Gentleman, please welcome my guests today in the Bluebox: Walther Matthau and Jack Lemmon" (applause from the audience, shoutings "Walther, Walter", the other side of the room answering "Jacky! Jacky" stomping rhythmically on the floor. W. and J. are smiling to the camera, waving. Women in the audience begin to shriek. Larry tries to speak, but the noise is just too loud to understand a word. "Please, calm down!" he shouts into his microphone, the sound technician has meanwhile cranked up the volume of the speakers. Larry, trying to ignore the uproar, speaks to Matthau and Lemmon, all three wearing headphones now. "You were both very successful, as a couple and alone, for many years now." "Jack was better!" a guest shouts. "No, Walther clearly was on top!" it is retorted from the other side of the room. "Tell us something about the secret fo your success!" "Well." begins Walther, "you see, it is quite simple: I had the ideas and he just helped me to realize them" Left side of the audience: "Boooh! You won't be nothing without Jack!" "Right so! Tell it, man, everybody has to know the truth!" the Matthau fans scream. Jack, just able to control his anger, Jack, with a trembling upper lip, rises halfway, pointing a finger at Matthau,
Image "That is incredible, in-cre-dible! His ideas were quite useless hadn't I always improved and changed them!" Tremendous applause from the left side. Triumphantly, Jack sits down again. Walther jumps up, "You moron, 'improved','changed', hah! If we would have done it your way we wouldn't sit here, we would be beggars in the street!" Larry King again tries to regain at least a little bit of control over the situation. "Now, now, that is a good idea, have a seat, calm down, you are no beggars, so there is no reason to insult each other, Gentlemen!" "Insult?" boomed Matthau, "What is this for a stupid show where I can not tell the truth?" Paperballs are thrown at Matthau from the audience, part of it chants "Matthau - down! What a clown!". "Jack away - Walther stay" the other half does. Jack is totally outraged, "What's that for weird stuff, lies, lies! Everybody out there knows how incompetent you are, yes, impotent and incontinent!" A paper cup with a Pepsi logo, stinking of rum, hits Larry King at his forehead, blinding his glasses, fighting guests come near the couch, a lamp falls down, exploding on the floor, lights go off completely, the clangor of bursting lamps, mixed with cries of pain and anger - the screen goes black, suddenly an announcer appears, "Ladies and Gentlemen, due to some technical problems we have to interrupt the airing of the show, instead you will see now a report about the long standing friendship of two artists, it is called 'An odd couple' "

(My two cents...)

Those "Jerry Springer" shows are staged, instructed actors. (Ok, most of the talk shows, even the more "tame" ones, can't do without actors). But my scenario could have been real! At least 8 years go, when both were still alive...

It doesn't stir any memories with me, either. There was an old show on American TV in the 1960s called "I've Got a Secret", where a contestant had to answer questions posed by a group of celebrities who tried to guess his secret. In a sense, the contestant was interviewed without the panel knowing what he was well-known for, so it sound somewhat similar to Tessa's project. Frankly, I only remember the show in Black and White, but a scan of Google Video shows there were some later episodes produced in color. And, the contestant's box is sort of a blue color. For a rather insipid example (The earlier B&W versions had a better panel of celebrities IMO), see:

Still, this seems a reach. Most likely Tessa is referring to something similar she perhaps remembers from German TV. Has anyone put the question to her in her blog commentary?

Yes, I have. Bierskoda came up with another idea, the Bluebox (or Bluescreen) TV technique e.g. to insert different backgrounds. But I don't see the context.

In my experience, this television backgrounding technique is known as "Chroma-Key", but when I googled it, I see it is also sometimes called "blue screen" and "green screen", so maybe you've got something there.

Pertweed, you are right, in older, pre-computer times they did it with a blue screen, later with a green one, and now every color can do it, so it is called nowadays chroma-key

OK!!! The blue/green screen I don't think that what Tessa was talking about.. :?
The Blue box is what throw me a curve. That would be part of a broadcast board in the US.

And there are replace on avenge every five to six year, upgrade are then made. So that why I ever see or hear of a blue box. If a codec are need they would buy the software and load it.

The part of the couple as well throw me as well.. Being wild some what like Jerry Springer I don't come to mind. I would watch Jerry Springer and laugh at how these people would be push into fighting. When I was a kid we would do that to get people to fight. We would think that it was funny that we were able to do that..

For the Jerry Springer Show. These people are not actors. The producers back these people into a corner to make them fight.. For which is easy to do.. Just say some keywords and people are off to the races..  Have to remember that these people come to the show with a bone to pick in the first place... Plus they don't have to pay them to come on the show.. Just pay there air fare.. For which is far less than union scale per actors.

Thanks guy's you have help this poor soul out.. "Hot" nice pic... Man your good... :)
